INTRODUCTION
The Department primary focus is to offer students experiential learning, entrepreneurship opportunities, industrial training, and research facilities in the field of food technology. The department emphasizes practical, hands-on experience, enabling students to operate various pilot plants and gain insights into food processing operations in an environment designed to mirror real-world food industry conditions.
Courses are Student READY (Rural and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) courses. These include Seminar, Research Project, Experiential Learnning Programmes, Industrial Tour, In-Plant Training.
All major departments coordinate and offer these courses. In every practical class, the students are made to soil their hands i.e. to work with their own hands with every instrument, tool and equipment available in every lab.
The college offers six number of student READY courses. The students will be attached to all the teachers available in the college. This means, increased supervision and concentration on every student. The students are being subjected to prepare synopsis for the seminar and prepare the research project report with the guidance of teacher attached.
In In-plant training student READY course, the students are being deputed to the respective allotted food industry where the student is required to stay in the industry for a period of 4 months. The student is subjected to work in different departments such as procurement, processing, quality control, packaging, etc. to gain practical knowledge and experience.
