Introduction

Department of Food Business Management at College of Food Science and Technology, Pulivendula, ANGRAU aims at the development of managerial and business skills to the students. It offers various courses at B. Tech. level to the students under the guidance of as per the syllabus recommended by the V Deans committee, ICAR, New Delhi related to Food business Management.

The courses offered by Department of Food business Management are Business Management and Economics, Marketing management and International Trade, ICT Applications in Food Industry, Project Preparation and Management, Entrepreneurship Development and Communication and Soft Skills Development. This will help the students to have a broad view about Marketing, Business and Financial aspects in Food Industry. It also guides the student in Project preparation and to develop a project plan and ignite the idea of start-ups.

The department also provides various laboratory facilities to the students to enrich the practical experience in various aspects. Following are Lab facilities provided by the department.

Software Lab

  • This lab enlightens the students and teachers about various statistical methodologies.
  • This lab is specially designed to support the use of various tools in statistical analysis and for computing the results in research project done by the students.
  • This lab provides a better platform to focus more on research by promoting the use of statistical packages and software (solving problems by using MATLAB, CFD, FLUENT, LabView, etc.).

Communication Lab

Communication is an integral instinct of all living things. A Good Communication is required for better understanding. The need for good Communication is a long standing requirement and this can be met by establishing a good communication centre. College of Food Science and Technology, Pulivendula has taken a step forward to uplift the students profile and make them ready for this competitive world.

  • This lab facilitates the computer-aided multi-media instructions which enable the students to learn language easily.
  • This lab helps the students to nuances of English word accent, Stress shifts, intonation, Structure of Syllables and Phonetics
  • To train students to use language appropriately for interviews, group discussion and public speaking.

The computer Lab is facilitated in a well-lit, spacious and air conditioned one with a floor space of 1800 sq. ft. (60 X 30 ft.) and false roofing to reduce the cooling load. The Lab is provided with 30 numbers of desktop systems. The ICT course is being conducted in this lab besides some basic courses of computers like C language for computing. These computers run heavy software like MATLAB, ANSYS, CFD, LabView as a part of curriculum.

The English Language Lab is also proposed to be conducted in the same space as computer Lab is conducted but, with software like k-Van for communicative skills, writing skills, presentation skills and inter personal skills.
